IMPHAL, February 21: Many Adhaar cards were found littered in the banks of the Imphal River near New Checkon.
A press meet was held on Friday at the Macha Leima office about the incident wherein several Adhaar cards and life insurance documents were found in the river bank.
Dimona, general secretary of Macha Leima said that the documents were handed over to their office by a reporter on February 18, also mentioning that the cards included life insurance, Adhaar cards and some other important documents.
“Some 737 adhaar cards and 19 life insurance documents were found. We reported the incident to the Imphal Post Office, Director General, and concerned deputy commissioner, superintendent of police,” she said.
Condemning the state government for failing to take up action, she said that the government is there in the state but no good governance is there.
She also appealed the government to take proper action against the concerned department at the earliest.
