IMPHAL, February 23: A one day awareness program for Improvement of Statistical Activity System, Chanam Sandrok, Keirao Bitra sub-division was organized by the District Statistical Office, Imphal East today.
Speaking at the one day program as resources person sub-inspector, District Statistical Officer (DSO), M Sanayaima appealed to the people of the state to render full co-operation to the representatives of the statistic department who will be collecting information about families.
Information will be collected on health and education of families, he said.
Mass collection of data was started in the year 1950, for the implementation of the Five Years plan, and it has been continued every five years, he said before adding that the 71st round of collection of information which commenced from January this year will continue till June, he said.
He further added that the datas collected on health and education from each family will be sent to the Ministry of Planning.
He urged the public to cooperate and provide proper and correct information about their families, as the department will be sending the datas to the Ministry of Planning for the state budget.
DSO, IE Ak Ibohal who attended as the chief guest appealed to the public for cooperation.
The one day awareness program was attended also by president, Gam Ray Club, Chanam Sandrok, Keisam Nigthembi; ex pradhan, Thiyam(o) Thoibi.
