IMPHAL, February 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party has selected Dr RK Ranjan Singh as the candidate of the party from the inner constituencies of the state for the 16th Lok Sabha election, while Prof Gangmumei Kamei has been selected as the party’s candidate for the outer constituency.
According to the official website of the party, the Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party met today under the presidentship of Rajnath Singh.
It said the meeting was attended by LK Advani, chairman, BJP Parliamentary Party; Sushma Swaraj, Leader of Opposition (Lok Sabha); Arun Jaitley, leader of Opposition (Rajya Sabha) and all the members of the Central Election Committee of the BJP.
The committee has decided on 54 names for the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections 2014 of different States.
Meanwhile, Dr RK Ranjan in a telephonic conversation with the IFP assured that he has received a telephonic confirmation about his candidature from a state BJP team stationed at the national capital.
It is also learnt that the state team in New Delhi is led by state president Th Chaoba and general secretary Ashwini Kumar.
