Border shielded indefinitely, shops shut down at Moreh

MOREH, February 18: The whereabouts of the missing two non locals  identified as Sanvendar Singh alias Jacky and Daljeet Singh could not be established following which the All Community Leaders of Moreh  have shielded the border indefinitely and aslo have shut down shops.

In this connection, a media team have visited Myanmar migration office at Namphalong for necessary inquiry. It was found that their names were enlisted in the register codified as border pass No. 480 dated February 11, 2014.

On questioning, one Myanmar migration official told that their ticket passes  issued by the migration office have not yet returned and their ID cards which was deposited has not been  collected, adding that after having learnt of their missing, a necessary man hunt has been conducted in and around Tamu town.

The Myanmar migration official further informed that the ticket pass only allows a person to visit upto Tamu and continued that the missing duo might have gone beyond the permit area. It is speculated that they might have  lose their track.

The media team then visited Moreh SDPO Balaram Singh and also Moreh ADC Robert Kshetrimayum. They informed the media team that necessary applications have been submitted to Myanmar authority and also to Tamu DC on February 13 last.
