CCpur, Feb 15: The Churachandpur Reporter Association (CRA) has condemned the attack on a senior IFP correspondent, Aribam Chaoba, by IRB personnel while returning from his journalistic duty on the 12 Feb.
Expressing concerned over the increase in cases of high handedness by the man in uniform, the chairman and executive member of CRA, Biak Tonsing said that it’s alarming that even senior members of the media fraternity are not spared. He recalled the incident in which a member of CRA was roughed up by Assam Rifles personnel who attacked him and snatched his camera last year.
Our sympathies is with the senior correspondent and wish him a quick recovery and the perpetrators be terminated from service, he added.
The CRA was formed last year by reporters of Lamka based local papers and the electronic with the office at New Lamka.
