KOHIMA, Feb 24 (NEPS): The Nagaland Unit of NCP and its legislature party members have, today, unanimously resolved to support the candidature of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as the DAN consensus candidate for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
In a meeting of the Nagaland Unit of NCP and its legislature party members held here at the private residence of Nagaland NCP Legislature Party leader Dr TM Lotha today, they had thoroughly deliberated on the prevailing political development following DAN’s unanimous decision to support the candidature of Rio for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in the State. Rio is contesting the ensuing Lok Sabha elections on NPF ticket as a DAN consensus candidate.
In the meeting, both the Nagaland Unit of the NCP and its legislators had unanimously resolved to support Rio’s candidacy as DAN consensus candidate for the ensuing Lok Sabha election.
They also expressed the hope that Rio would be able to effectively play as an MP at the Center, besides pushing the ongoing Naga peace process for finding early solution.
