IMPHAL February 26: Three over ground workers of two different underground outfits were arrested by the Imphal east district police commando from their respective residences and recovered 280 live rounds of Self Loading Rifle (SLR) and three Radio Sets today
According to a reliable source, an OGW of the PLA identified as Maimom Bajanta Singh, 41, son of Mohori of Bashikong Torban was arrested by a team of Imphal East commandos from his residence today.
Sources further said that the arrested over ground worker was involved in various extortion cases.
On the other hand two OGWs of the PREPAK were arrested by a combined team of Imphal East and Thoubal district commandos along with 280 live rounds of SLR and three radios set
The two over ground workers are identified as Elangbam Shyamsunder, 53, son of (L) Akoboro singh of Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai and Mayanglambam Sobha singh 44 son of Ibopishak from same locality they were arrested from their respective residences, informed the source.
Sources further mention that the 280 live rounds were recovered by the combined CDO team found buried inside the residential compound of Elangbam Shyamsunder.
