PCM stolen properties recovered

KANGPOKPI, February 26: The items including computers worth around Rs 150000 which had been reportedly stolen away from Presidency College Motbung during the intervening night of February 20 have been recovered today.

Dr T Gangte, principal PCM said that with the swift initiative of the Motbung Village Authority as well as the Motbung Youth Club including likeminded individuals who are very much concerned of the college’s smooth running, all the stolen items of the college have been recovered today though the miscreant(s) behind the incident could not be traced and apprehended till now.

While extending her heartfelt gratitude to all who rendered every possible and effective effort in recovering the stolen items, Dr T Gangte asserted that the college is not in a position to survive without the cooperation and support of the general public particularly the local denizens.

She continued that the recent burglary in the college is the first of its kind and it indicates that education awareness among the youth is drastically lacking behind.

She further condemned it as “truly unfortunate” for the society.

It is also highly unfortunate that we are busy engaging in such unwanted element, which account probably for the slow development in education sector, while the world over, people are running non-stop for better and advance education, she asserted.

“We are at the bottom struggling for development particularly in the field of education; there it is high time to wake up from our deep slumber.”

While extending her thankfulness to all those involved in the recovery of the stolen items, Dr T Gangte urged all to extend their fullest cooperation towards the college for the cause education.
