IMPHAL, February 23: Over two lakh children under the age of 5 were reportedly administered with polio drops today as a part of the intensified pulse polio immunisation programme across the state.
As per official data of the Directorate of Family Welfare Services, the immunisation programme was conducted at 254088 booths and 15269 vials were used for a total of 2,58608 children. However, the immunisation failed to meet its target. A total of 20,593 children (0-5years) were immunised against the targatted beneficiaries of 31507; 13,014 in Chandel against 13801; 5,846 in Moreh against 7273; 31,220 in Churachandpur against 34261; 45,981 in Imphal East against 59470; 52,608 in Imphal West against 60353; 18,422 in Senapati against 31027; 8596 in Kangpokpi against 23628; 11,005 in Tamenglong against 18151; 44,591 in Thoubal against 57272 and 6,732 in Ukhrul against 24168.
