Second day in the Assembly

IMPHAL, February 25:On the second day of the Assembly Session in the Question and answer session, MLA Samuel Risomenquired the Education Minister about the number of residential schools that have been established since 2004, the places of established and the total amount spent to run the school.

The education minister replied that altogether nine residential schools for boys and girls for classes vi- viii have been opned since 2010-11 in the state.  The amount of money spent for the year 2011-12 is Rs. 17,87,000, Rs. 2,3255,00 for the year 2012-13 and Rs. 1, 68, 75, 000 for the year 2013-14 respectively.

On a starred question by MLA ThSyamkumar Singh to the Rural Dev&Panchyatiraj Minister on whether there is any plan to take up rural technology park in Manipur. The minister gave an affirmative reply, work in 2014-15 is subject to the approval of the central govt.

The same MLA in a starred question asked whether under the RTE Act, text book are freely issued to the student from 1 to 8 standards, to the education minister.  The minister concern gave an affirmative and mention that the fund are being given by the HRD ministry.
