IMPHAL, February 25: Four individuals including three students and a head master in-charge of a school were allegedly assaulted by the security personnel when they return after examination in full uniform at Sugnu yesterday afternoon.
The injured students are identified as TK Rathina (17) daughter of TK Thungum, her HSLC exam roll number is 10385, HB Moningsisa (17) son of HB Livingston, his HSLC roll number is 10379 both are class X students of Toupokpi High School appearing ongoing HSLC examination 2014, HB Chinania (19) son of HB Livingstone, appearing CHSEM 2014 from MBC class XII and HB Charningam (28) head master in charges of Toupokpi High School.
Family sources disclosed that the incident took place at around 12:15 pm while they were returning home from their exam centre of Sugunu high School on their bolero.
On their way to home the bolero made a quick stop at Sugunu bazaar when some VDF personnel already deployed in the Sugunu bazaar asked not to park at area. Following the instruction they left the area and tried to park few distance away from the previous spot.
For the second time, the VDF personnel denied them parking resulting in a heated argument between the two parties.
Things turned ugly when the VDF personnel started assaulted one of the school girl.
Unable to bear the highhandedness, the head master with two of his students engaged in a fight with VDF.
In the meantime, a CDO team of Sugunu arrived at the scene and brutally trash the individuals alleging of of assaulted police personnel in duty.
The head master in charge was taken to Sugunu Police custody but the students including girl were released and admitted to the CHC Sugunu for treatment.
Meanwhile TK Rathina was reportedly referred to RIMS Hospital in the evening after with her condition deteriorated.
Speaking to media persons, in this regard the President of ATSUM Emboi Sarto, strongly condemned the highhandedness of the police and demanded a befitting punishment against those personnel involved in the incident besides terminating them.
He said that the arrested head master in-charge must be released unconditionally. Failing to comply with their demands the students body threaten to launch an intense form of agitation.
