IMPHAL, February 7: BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s first-ever public rally in Imphal will be held under a three-tier high-security arrangement, official sources said on Friday.
Meanwhile, saffron flags of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including banners and posters have dotted many roads of the Manipur capital ahead of Modi’s public rally tomorrow amidst a state wide bandh announced by Manipur based militant outfit United Revolutionary Front (URF) to boycott the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate’s visit to the state.
Security personnel from NSG, Gujarat police, and other forces numbering 30 led by a Director General of Police of that state have already arrived here to help provide security protection to Modi who will arrive in Imphal by a chopper at 10:50 am tomorrow.
Modi is likely to address a huge crowd of nearly 1 lakh at Langjing Achouba ground tomorrow as predicted by the state BJP unit.
The NSG, Gujarat police, and other security forces from that state with the help of the state security forces including CRPF and IRB will provide a three-tier high-security protection to the venue where Modi will be addressing his first-ever public rally in Imphal, the sources said.
The security personnel from Gujarat have already inspected the ground and the adjacent area where Modi will be addressing a one-hour long public meeting.
The source said that there will be 24 hours of uninterrupted power supply from today where Modi will be attended a public meeting.
All the invitees, public, media, VIPs, senior members of BJP and official must reach the Patsoi Langjing Achouba ground before 9:30 am.
The public gathering will begin from around 9:40 am with the National Song followed by presentation of traditional songs, dances and gifts from different communities of state.
Modi will leave Imphal for Gujarat after the public rally.
Meanwhile, BJP National General Secretary Tapir Gao has arrived in Imphal one day ahead of the proposed public rally by Modi, official sources said.
