IMPHAL, April 13: The Lok Sabha election, this time is all about choosing the rightful leader, said Ninthoujam Mangi chairman, election campaign CPI while addressing an election campaign for Dr M Nara.
Dr M Nara is the sponsored candidate of the CPI and, Left and Secular Alliance Manipur, for the inner constituency of th 16th Lok Sabha poll 2014
The senior politician of the CPI was addressing a campaign at Sagolband Nepra Mejor this evening.
Further in his speech, N Mangi stated that the people should choose the rightful leader of Manipur who can voice the prolonged grievances of people.
Contending that a good leader must possess excellent political career, he held that Dr Nara is the right leader. Since joining the CPI in 1973, Nara has been adhering to his principles of politics and had been elected several times wherein he had held key post as minister.
Mangi alleged that the sitting MP Dr Th Meinya did not bother to take part when Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and Gaikhangam along with all political parties of Manipur went to Delhi on the issue of border fencing.
Not only this, he also failed to raise his voice against the racist attack faced by NE people recently in other parts of the country, Mangi added.
He assured that Dr Nara if elected will definitely change the outlook mainland towards the NE people when compared to other MP ever elected previously.
“We have only one seat from the inner which is why people should carefully choose a leader who can raise issues of the state beyond their party’s policy.
A leader who has the personality and strength to raise the people’s voice, one who can save Sharmila” Mangi opined.
Expressing confidence that the third front will come into power at the centre, the senior politician contended that the Congress government will disintegrate Manipur while referring to GOI and IM peace talk.
Moreover, the Modi wave in Manipur was just a gentle breeze, asserted Mangi.
