IMPHAL, April 12: Political heavyweight, Dr Nimaichand Luwang along with 9 others has joined BJP. President of BJP, Manipur unit, Th Chaoba made the formal announcement of their joining at their Nityaipat Chuthek office, today. He said that BJP will gain more strength on Dr Nimaichand’s joining to the party.
Th Chaoba, during the announcement took jibes on Chief Minister Ibobi and the Congress party. He alleged that Ibobi have given clearance for fencing the border area at the Yaingangpokpi wildlife Sanctuary Park, of which a good portion is now at the Myanmar side.
He said, Congress party is alarmed of BJP’s growing popularity. Therefore the party is throwing allegations at BJP day and night. The youth of the state are particularly angry on the issue of Yaingangpokpi wildlife Sanctuary Park border fencing. Youth are waiting for Chief Minister’s clarification on the issue, and not from the Dy CM.
He added that Congress party is responsible for giving away huge land to Myanmar. Nehru, who was leader of the Congress, gave away Kabaw Valley to Myanmar. If BJP comes to power, the party will get back the land that has been gifted away, and punish those who have done it so.
Dr Nimaichand Luwang, speaking to the media said that Manipur need peace for development and welfare. Congress rule in the state has brought hardship to the people. Corruption is eating up Manipur. As president of MPP, he was struggling to fight corruption but unfortunately he had failed.The only option to fight and root out corruption is to defeat the congress party. And the only party that can defeat congress party is none other than BJP, Nimaichand said.
