Gaikhangam continues attack on Chaoba

IMPHAL, April 12: The face of BJP is “fear not fair.” The state had lost 18 precious souls during the June 18 uprising because of the BJP led government. People need to be aware of Th Chaoba led political party. This was stated by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaikhangam who is also the deputy chief minister during an election campaign for INC candidate in inner constituency Dr Th Meinya at the Keishamthong Ahanthem Leikai organised by the local block Congress committee.

Calling Chaoba atrocious (mongba), he said there is no party that can survive the BJP state president.

Any party that Chaoba joins is sure to disintegrate and break up, Gaikhangam said.

He added, Thounoujam Chaoba was behind the decline of the Federal Party, Manipur and Manipur Peoples’ Party, and now it is time for BJP.

Chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh in his speech said both the BJP and the CP had gain a free hand in their campaigning during the last state Assembly election, nevertheless both failed to win even a single seat.

While, the Congress which was banned by several organisations get absolute majority, he added.

How can BJP and CPI even think of winning in today’s scenario, he asked.

India will be torn, if the BJP comes to power, Ibobi retorted.

India has several communities of different religion inhabiting together, and a party based on a single religion like the BJP cannot rule the country, he added.

Congress MLA from Nagaland C Apok Jamik also said this is the time to strengthen the hands of Ibobi Singh.

“Let a committed, dedicated and patriotic leader like him be the captain in these turbulent times, when communalism and factionalism are raising their ugly heads in this part of the country.”

“Let us not detray the party that has done so much for us.”

Meanwhile, the Yaiskul Block Congress Committee organized a public meeting in connection with the coming 16th Lok Sabha election held at Multipurpose Community Hall at NSK Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi.

Addressing at the function, the chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh stated that if CPI and BJP ruled the country or the state, it will not develop and could not be able to progress.

The chief minister further observed that polling percentage has increased this year which is due to a higher literacy rate.

He further added that the voters should not waste their votes by selecting candidates who will not work for the development of the state.

Meanwhile, a political conference was also held at Kshetri Mayai Leikai, Athletic Brothers Association (ABA) ground organised by Kshetrigao Block Congress Committee. During the conference the CM O Ibobi Singh, Dy CM Gaikhangam, Sitting MP and candidate Th Meinya, MOBC Parliamentary Secretary Md Amin Shah and other members of the party attended.
