MOREH, April 29: While lauding the Manipur chief minister for the proper power supply to the sub-division during year, 2013, the Hill Tribal Council has said however since February of this year the power supply to the border town has been dismal.
With the rising heat wave the people are suffering greatly, it said.
The erratic power supply has nothing to do with technical failures. The present power failure which has been going on for five days is due to machinery breakdown following a storm at Yurembam/Heikakpokpi area, it said.
The council has said that the people of Moreh implore to the Chief Minister to avail 19 hours of power supply on a daily basis and the concerned department may keep in touch with organisations in Moreh to ensure payment of power fees by consumers.
