IMPHAL, Apr 13: A team of the Bishnupur district Police under the supervision of Manjit, additional SP Operation, Bishnupur and Bikram additional SP Law and Order, Bishnupur along with women police personnel of the district conducted a cordon and search operation this morning at Thanga Chingkha under Moirang Police Station.
Womenfolk were also lined up for verification during the operation.
Seven persons including one KCP (MC) cadre identified as Kwairakpam Netaji, 52, son of Nungsi of Thanga Chingkha were detained by the police during the search operation.
All the detained persons including the arrested KCP cadre have been handed over to the Moirang Police Station for further verification.
Meanwhile, a PRO IGAR (s) said that troops of Red Shield Division apprehended six UGs during four different operations conducted from April 11 till 13, 2014.
In an operation based on specific intelligence regarding the move of a NSCN (K) cadre from CCpur to Imphal on April 11, the troops apprehended the NSCN (K) Regional Council member identified as Khubung Rongmei alias Khakubong, son of Rangbi Rongmei, resident of Mukti Khullen, Tamenglong District, it said.
Further according to the statement, two NSCN (K) cadres self style second Lt Thuanjin Gangmei, son of Kahokiyaba Gangmei, resident of Nungtek I, Tamenglong district and self style pvt Philip Phaomei, son of Thuanjinnang, resident of Guangram, Tamenglong district were apprehended along with one 9 mm Pistol and four live rounds from a search operation conducted in the general area of Khumji III today.
In another operation launched today early morning, two cadres of KNF (N) were apprehended from the general area of Awlmun and Khubong.
The two were identified as self style pvt Angom Santa alias Abay Singh, son of Angom Khomei Singh, resident of Phaiyang Chingkhunou, Imphal West District and self style cpl Angom Tomba Singh, son of Angom Sidham, resident of Phaiyang Chingkabam, Imphal West district along with one 9 mm Pistol with magazine, two 9 mm live rounds, one 9 mm SMC with magazine, it continued.
The PRO IGAR (s) also said that in another early morning operation conducted today, a KYKL cadre was apprehended from the general area of Mayang Langjing, identified as self style cpl Sorokhibam Boacha alias Boicha Singh, son of S Ibosana Singh, resident of Mayang Langjing Tening Makha Leikai, Imphal West District along with one 9 mm pistol with magazine and three live rounds.
All apprehendees along with the recoveries were later handed over to the respective Police Stations the same day, it said.
