IMPHAL, April 30: The All Tribal Students` Union Manipur (ATSUM) contended that the clarification made by Minister, Md Nasir, in some of the local dailies in connection with the alleged discrimination meted out to the ZEO/DPO, Thoubal was baseless, unfounded and fabricated to serve his vested interest.
Speaking to media persons, Muan Tombing ATSUM, information and publicity secretary, stated that by denying boldly his (Minister Nasir) action the ZEO/DPO had irked the sentiments of the public in general and tribal people in particular.
Contradicting the justification made by the Minister, he said that the news report of the Minister appeared during the auspicious Sangai festival for manhandling his own friend and aid was enough to justify his savagery and conclusions can be drawn that he is liable to continue his wickedness at anytime on his own whims.
Md Abdul Nasir, who in time of his oath of secrecy to do justice to the people irrespective of creed and caste, had deliberately breached his vow, the ATSUM president alleged.
He continued that Minister should not cover his insane deeds rather should accept his fault and resign from his Minister post on moral ground.
Deploring the attempts of the Minister to conceal the ugly episode by using some organisations, ATSUM advised the MSUM and AMMSO not to resort to provocative words that might hinder the coordination and peaceful co-existence of different communities.
It opined that the allegation hurled by the two organisations against ATSUM of having taken bribe from the ZEO and simply quoting about breaking of the territorial integrity is another balkanisation.
Meanwhile, the ATSUM assured to provide with witness accounts or evidence how the agriculture Minister has provoked the ZEO/DPO using abusive and racially discriminating words.
