IMPHAL, April 9: Today’s ambush on state deputy speaker Preshaw Shimray while he was returning to Imphal from Ukhrul has shown that the opponents of the Congress are already disheartened with the party’s high performance, said deputy chief minister Gaikhangam today.
Addressing an elected meeting at Arapti Kangjeibung Ketukhong today, the MPCC president had also declared that the ambush has proved that the Congress will win in the state.
He said, such people should remain inside their homes and do household chores.
While, Dr Th Meinya might not have been able to fulfil the wants of each and every constitution separately, the developments witnessed in the state over the past ten years under the present government are also achievements of the MP, he said.
The Congress is not a political party, rather it is a people’s movement, so no-one can separate the people from the Congress and vice-versa.
Several political parties will only raise their voices during election time, but will disappear after the election, he continued before adding that the Congress will raise the voice for the people till the last, Gaikhangam continued.
The party has now 47 MLAs and in such a situation, the BJP dreams of winning Lok Sabha election, he said.
I am confused as to tag BJP either as clever or brainless, he said.
While, P Parijat was the FCS minister during the tenure of the SPF government, he had guaranteed to provide a flood of kerosene, however, people have never heard or seen of kerosene flooding although people heard a lot of Kerosene scarcity during his time, he alleged.
This proves that the Communist Party of India speaks a lot however, cannot turn their words into action, he said.
Our respected CPI candidate Dr Nara is so excellent with his speeches always accompanied by facial expressions but he is not capable to convert his words into action, Gaikhangam said.
Dr M Nara moves like a vehicle without a starter, Gaikhangam said before asking how he will carry the load of the people on such vehicle. This vehicle cannot even reach Sekmai, he said.
