Series of burglary reported at Imphal

IMPHAL April 18: Unidentified thieves carried out a series of burglary at different locations of the state capital during the intervening night of April 17 and 18.

Three shops including two opticals and a poultry from Nagamapal to Kangjabi machine were burgled during the night. Two other shops were burgled at the Kanglapak Moreh Park near the Indira Park.

Shop of K Budhadev of Bamon Leikai, whose shop at Kanglapak “Basic” selling mobile phones, photocopying and air ticketing was also burgled said that he has lost 40 mobile phones, one laptop and Rs 10000 in cash from his shop.

Owner of the Auto Engineer shop located next to the “Basic” said the burglars have taken away several tools including Micro Meters, Crane and other Machine Block materials worth around Rs One Lakh from his shop. Both the shops are located under City Police Station.

Lamabam Inaobi, owner of Multi Vision shop at Kangjabi Machin said the thieves broke the iron shutter of his shop to break in and have taken away mobile recharge coupons worth Rs 30 thousand and another Rs 70 thousand in cash.

Rashika Poultry owned by P Inao of SIngjamei Chingamakha lost around Rs 9000.

L Gunachandra of Kwakeithel Akham Leirak said he came to know about the incident only after he came to open his shop City Optical at Nagamapal RIMS road this morning and found the iron shutter broken.

He said the thieves have taken around Rs 7000 from his shop.

The police have taken up cases against the incidents.
