IMPHAL, May 15: A total of 7,01,987 individuals are searching for jobs in the State this year alone, said a press statement of the DIPR.
A total of 5,00,660 males and 2,01,327 females are searching for jobs, it said.
The statement said, Imphal West with a total of 1,82887 individuals searching for jobs (1,19,259 male and 63,628 female) has the highest number of job-seekers, followed by Thoubal with 1,18,039 job seekers including 92,918 male and 25,121 female.
Imphal East has 1,11,574 job-seekers including 79,308 male and 32,266 female, Bishnupur District has 68,247 including 50,787 male and 17,460 female, Churachandpur District has 70,588 with 52,062 male and 18,526 female, Ukhrul District has 28,150 job seekers with 19,716 male and 8,434 female.
Further according to the statement, Senapati district has 58,905 including 42,621 male and 16,284 female, Tamenglong District has 24, 858 with 18,846 male and 6,012 female and Chandel District has 29,743 including 20,430 male and 9,313 female.
Furthermore, the total number of handicapped unemployed individuals is 2,643 including 1,774 male and 869 female.
