IMPHAL, May 18: A police team of NAB has seized 260 bottles of CLOWARD cough syrup containing codeine phosphate in three carton boxes and 90 bottles of Yekodi cough syrup containing codeine phosphate in one carton box on May 17.
According to a press release of the PRO Police department, these cough syrup bottles were seized from inside a Bolero jeep with registration No. MN-07L/1510 in front of the Air Transport Corporation (Assam) Pvt. Ltd. godown located at Nilakuthi, Imphal East.
Four persons who were carrying the cough syrups without any valid documents are identified as Md Farooque Shah, 32, son of Md MA Haliin Shah of Lilong Turel Ahanbi, Md Aziz Ahamed, 29, son of Md Sheikh Najir Ahamcd of Lilong Hangamthabi, Md Abdul Rahaman, 30, son of Md Hayad Ali of Lilong Yangbi Leikai and Md Syed Wasim, 23, son of Md Sayed Tahir Ali of Lilong Yangbi Leikai.
All four have been arrested, said the release.
Six mobile phone handsets along with the Bolero jeep have also been seized from their possession, it said.
