UKHRUL, May 5: Even as a 15-day deadline has been set for two villages in Ukhrul district to mete out customary penalties to the four accused in recent Gurgaon sex racket case, the Tangkhul Frontal Organizations (TFOs) are currently awaiting a report from Delhi to embark on their mission to contain what they deem the issue of `plunging morality` among the Tangkhuls` youth, especially girls.
“We are currently waiting for a full report from Delhi in connection with the April 22 incident. As soon as we receive the same, we will work out the course of action,” said Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL) president Ringluiwon referring to a resolution adopted by TFOs at a recent joint meeting held at TNL office.
She further stated that the said report is expected within a few days` time though no mention was made of from whom they would receive it.
Meanwhile, attempt to cull further reports from Tangkhul Shanao Long Delhi (TSLD) turned out a big letdown as they declined to divulge anything other than a mere “no new development as of now” via sms.
Earlier on Friday TFOs stipulated that the authorities of two villages of the district, namely Paoyi village and Pushing village where the four arrested girls in Gurgaon case hail from, to punish the four accused according to customary laws of the community and submit report thereof to TFOs within 15 days.
At the same time, the Tangkhul bodies had also resolved to join hands in addressing the issue of degrading moral values among today`s youth bringing a bad reputation to the whole district.
