PLA claims Ccpur attack on SF

IMPHAL, May 15: The proscribed outfit Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has claimed that the outfit’s armed wing People’s Liberation Army had carried out the attacked on a combined team of 25 Madras regiment and 1/11 GR on May 14 at Churachandpur district.

A statement issued by Bangkim, chief of the department of publicity of the outfit said that the attack was carried out by the PLA 252 mobile battalion adding that two jawans of the 1/11 GR were inflicted with serious injuries during the attack.

It further claimed that the same day a demolition unit of the outfit also launched another attack by exploding a powerful bomb near the camp of 44 AR situated at Kangpat Khullen under Kamjong Sub-division of Ukhrul district inflicting injuries to some of the AR patrolling team.

It asserted that attacks on the security forces were carried out earlier this year on January 26 at Sajik Tampak against 21 AR, February 8 in Ukhrul district against 44 AR at Ningchou village, March 11 against 24 AR at Kamban Khullen of Chandel and April 4 attack in Zou Khunou and Taikotang in Churachandpur etc. district. Opining that the attack was a part of the operation Leopard of the outfit, it said that the chief of army staffs of PLA lauded the valiant act of its army and co-operation of the public.
