IMPHAL, May 26: Irom Chanu Sharmila will leave Imphal for the national capital May 27 to physically appear before the Patiala Court on May 28.
Sources said that she will board a Delhi bound Indigo flight around noon accompanied by a doctor, two nurses and two personnel each of jail and police authorities.
Although very recently Sharmila expressed her desire to meet the newly elected Prime Minister , Narendra Modi, no formal request seeking a meet with the Prime Minister has reflected on her schedule, disclosed the sources.
Sharmila’s physical appearance before the court is related with a case registered against her for staging protest by fasting demanding repeal of AFSPA at Jantar Mantar, in 2006. The case registered against her by the concerned police is FIR No.222/06 under IPC section 309 (attempt to suicide).
She had missed similar summoned twice with the State failing to send her due to lack of fund.
The first summoned was served on January 30 last and the second at the end of March. This time, the concerned court instructed the state Government to produce her without fail.
