IMPHAL, May 5: Angry locals of Yumnam Patlou stormed the office of Young Women Help Organisation today for concealing the immoral video and a memory card containing pictures taken by the organisation of a 24 year- old- woman.

Around 11 am, locals of Yumnam Patlou came at the office of the organisation at Keishampat Top Leirak  with the intention of recovering the immoral video and the memory card containing the pictures of the 24-year –old woman which the members of the organisation forcibly captured on March 12.

Infuriated with the attitude of the organization, the locals grew impatient and tried to dismantle the office but the Top Leirak residents told them to settle the matter elsewhere.

The irate Yumnam Patlou locals dragged the legal advisor cum president of the association, Thangjam Shanti and held a press conference at Manipur Press Club.

Speaking to media person at the press conference, the victim denied that the woman on the immoral MMS clip is not her.

After being summoned by the organization on March 10, she visited the office on March 11 along with her mother, she said adding that even after repeatedly denying that the woman on the video is not her they didn’t listen and force her to watch the MMS clip.

The members compelled me to remove all my cloths to check whether my body matched with the woman on the clip, she added.

Some months ago, my husband showed me the same clip and accused that I was involved in an illicit relationship with my uncle-in-law, N. Deben (50) which I denied, she said.

She said she was ill-treated afterwards and her husband even threatened to shoot her with his license gun if she didn’t accept that the woman in the clip was her.

The woman’s mother asserted that the obscene clip was even shown to her by stressing that the woman in the clip was her daughter, adding that even after requesting them to not let her daughter remove cloths, they didn’t listen.

“Her husband’s family had invited us to come at their locality to attend a meeting. On the meeting, we denied that it was not my daughter and it was someone else. We also asked them to do whatever they want if the female in the video is my daughter”, the woman’s mother said.

The locals after realizing that the MMS clip was a fake dismantled the house of the husband.

We have repeatedly appealed to the organisation to hand over the MMS clip and the pictures but they refused by saying that they had kept it safe in a locker, the woman’s mother said.

Speaking at the conference, Shanti Devi stood up and denied the allegations made against her by saying that she had already handed over the MMS clip to a friend of the complainant.

On hearing those words, the locals turned furious and started assaulting her. However, a Police team rushed to the spot on time and intervened to control the situation.

Later, the family of the woman filed a written complaint to the City Police Station and Shanti was picked up and later handed over to Imphal  Police Station.
