IMPHAL, June 22: The cancellation of an Imphal-Delhi via Guwahati Air India flight provoked passengers to demand removal of the manager after he refused to provide accommodation to the passengers at the Imphal Tulihal Airport this evening.

Air India authorities announced the cancellation of the flight I1890 around 5.50pm after a 2 hour delay from the scheduled flight timing.

Soon the passengers demanded provision of accommodation from the airline.

Speaking to the media, a passenger said around 120 passengers had already check in pass the security check in and were holding boarding pass to board the Air India flight to Delhi via Guwahati.

He said the scheduled flight timing was 3.40pm.

However, the airline authorities announced the cancellation only at 5.50pm, he lamented.

He said according to the airline authorities the flight which was coming from Delhi via Guwahati before taking the same route back was asked by airline engineers not to proceed further from Guwahati citing technical snag.

Soon the passengers went in to meet the Airline manager at the Imphal Airport to ask for accommodation or atleast accommodation charge as many of the passengers had come from far off places, he continued.

However, the manager said he can’t do anything although it was pasted on his table that the Airline will provide for accommodation in case of flight cancellation, which enraged the passengers, he continued.

At last the airline authorities decided to pay Rs 1500 as accomodation charge for all passengers and to arrange for a Imphal-Delhi flight tomorrow.
