IMPHAL, June 27: The Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeshwar Singh distributed school uniforms to the 141 students of Harorou Cosmopolitian Primary School, Chingkhu and 80 students of Samei Primary School, Sambei at Sambei Community Hall.
Speaking at the function, the speaker stated that surprise inspection will commence in government schools for the improvement of the education system in the state from July.
If any teacher is found irregular and absent on the day of the inspection, severe actions will be taken against them, he asserted.
Continuing that both the teachers and parents should be aware of benefits under the Sarva Shikshya Abhiyan wherein the distribution of free uniforms, free education and free foods to the students for the development of the Indian educational system is there, he said if these were not utilised properly or wasted, the central government will not succeed in reaching its target of bringing a good educational system.
Th Lokeshwar Singh appealed the local clubs to inspect and keep an eye towards the improvement of government schools instead of only confining to acting on conflict or state issues
He added that without any improvement of the education system, the state or country will not develop, so there is a need to develop the educational system even more.
