IMPHAL, July 26: The Pangal (Manipuri Muslim) Political Forum (PPF) has extended its warm wishes on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitar to the people of Manipur.
A press release of the forum has stated that the month of Ramzan is celebrated in honour of Prophet Muhammad and it is the holiest month of the year.
It has appealed to the people of the State to stop using drugs which are banned by law, entertainments and any kinds of gambling on the said day.
The Forum has appealed to the clubs/Meira Paibis and Imams to take up any necessary actions regarding the matter.
Moreover, with the coming of Eid-ul-Fitar, the forum has wished for the welfare of the people of the State to the Almighty and to ensure peace and harmony regardless of any issues among the various communities residing together in the State.
The forum has also appealed to the people of the State to join in the celebration, it said.
Meanwhile, the Manipur People’s Party, Minority Cell has also sent wishes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitar to the Manipuri Muslims and prayed for peaceful co-existence amongst all the various ethnic groups of people in the state.
Meanwhile, the Minority Cell has celebrated an Iftar party at Jama Masjid at Marjid Road, Imphal on July 26 attended by Imam Moulana Jiyauddin.
The event was also attended by MPP President, Sobhakiran Singh, Vice-President N. Ojit Singh, Treasurer, MD Ayub Khan, General Secretaries and members of the party, it said.
