IMPHAL, July 2: The Thadou Students’ Association has demanded termination of 7 IRB CO, Chaba Lukho from the government service for failing to give any positive response by the CO regarding the June 16 alleged accident which took place on the way between Khonghampat and Koirengei, Imphal.
James Haokip, general secretary of TSA speaking to media at the Press Club today said if the authority concerned fail to meet their demand before July 6, a 72 hour Manipur bandh will be imposed from the midnight of July 6.
He said a memorandum has been submitted to the Dy Chief Minister of Manipur highlighting their demand.
It may be recalled that the TSA had alleged that the vehicle of the CO, Lukho knocked down an Alto car bearing Regd. No MLO5F – 2825, on June 16, which injured six occupants of the car. The victims were reported to be the family members of S Lunkhojang alias Hejang Haokip of K Salbung village under Churachandpur District.
TSA has also appealed all the civil society bodies and citizens of the state for their cooperation.
