CM assures NIT students of security

IMPHAL, September 15: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today appealed to students from different States studying in Manipur to remain calm while assuring their security.

During a brief meeting with media persons after the Governor’s swearing in ceremony at Durbar hall, Raj Bhavan, the Chief Minister said misunderstandings among fellow students can happen anywhere, but it can be solve by sitting together and clarifying each other.

He said the government is there to look into their grievances and render all possible security for the students.

Even if the students from other States were unhappy and insecure with the security provision in their campus, the government is ready to arrange a more secured place for them, he said.

He said he had visited the NIT campus on September 14 along with the DGP, principal secretary Education and had even ordered the DGP to call back the State police deployed in the campus and replace them with the CRPF.
