Government’s decision to create new posts for teachers welcomed

IMPHAL, September 3: The Federation of Government College Teachers’ Association, Manipur (FEGOCTA) has welcomed the Manipur Government’s decision for the creation of new posts of teachers in government colleges and higher secondary schools.

The association has extended its gratitude to the Chief Minister, Education minister and commissioner, Higher and Technical Education for their initiatives to fulfill the long pending demands to fill up the vacant posts of librarians and non-teaching staff in the colleges for proper teaching-learning and good administration in the colleges.

It also sent fax messages to the Prime Minister of India and Union Human Resource Development Minister informing that it will participate in the coming Teacher’s Day celebration and also requested to advise the State government to implement UGC Regulations, 2010 in toto.

In a separate press release, the All Manipur College Teachers’ Association (AMCTA) has also expressed gratitude towards the State cabinet for its decision to create new posts for part time/contract teachers.

The AMCTA press release appealed to the government to turn the resolution into action and to the teachers to maintain accountability.

It also stated that the use of the recommended fund provided by the Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) will be beneficial to the colleges.

AMCTA has also appealed to the government to look into the insufficient non-teaching staff strength and infrastructure in schools and colleges for improvement so that the education quality in the State is at par with other States.

It also stated that the association will support any work taken up by the government for the development of education, it said.

The All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers’ Welfare Association has also welcomed the State cabinet’s decision to create posts for part time lecturers for higher secondary schools.

According to a release of the Association, it has appealed to the government to establish hostels for those students who has to travel far for their education.
