IMPHAL, September 9: The State government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakhs to the family of the IRB personnel who was killed in an ambush by suspected NSCN-IM cadres, and assistance of Rs 1 lakh each to the other injured police personnel. The government has also promised to provide employment to the next of kin of those personnel killed or maimed in the ambush attack.
The government in an official statement has shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family at their irreparable loss. The State government while strongly condemning the ambush attack has stated that the culprits will be taken to task as per the laws of the land.
Meanwhile, the deceased has been identified as Rifleman KS Thodmiyo of the Fifth IRB attached to the CDO Imphal West while the other two personnel who got injured during the militant attack have been identified as Kapnilian Namsong and Khumukcham Amuthoi.
