IMPHAL, Sept 5: The United All Communities’ Social Up-Lifters, Kangleipak has condemned the police firing that led to the death of two individuals and injuring several others at the hands of the security force on August 30 at Ukhrul.
According to a release of UNACSU, it shared the grief of the bereaved members of the families. The UNACSU also demanded the punishment of those involved in the incident. It has also appealed to the Central and State Government to prevent such incidents form occurring in the future.
It further said that the government must shape up the Police and its agencies in order to preserve the peace between the different ethnic groups living in the state.
Our correspondent adds from Chandel that The All Tribal Women Organization (ATWO) Chandel District has also strongly condemned the Ukhrul incident in which two civilians were killed by the State security Forces on August 30.
A press statement issued by Lalam Mate, President of the All Tribal Women Organization (ATWO) Chandel District has said that the Ukhrul incident in which two persons were killed by the Manipur State Security Forces was very unfortunate.
The Organization strongly condemn such acts of trigger happy State Force killing unarmed innocent civilians and it should be condemned by all.
It further said that the State forces must understand the reason for the general public to feel insecure and anxious on seeing them is because the state forces were poorly disciplined, trigger happy and reigning terror instead of providing security and removing fear in the mind of the common people.
The organisation also shared the sorrow and pain endured by the bereaved families of the two deceased and other injured persons in the unfortunate incident said Lalam Mate.
