IMPHAL, Sept 27: MSCP candidate of the 38-Hiyanglam assembly constituency by-poll Thokchom Laiba today submitted his nomination to the returning officer. He was accompanied by party president Adim Panmei.
Altogether six persons have filed their nominations till the last day of filing nomination papers, today.
The constituency which will go to polls on October 17 has 34 polling stations, with the district magistrate declaring all polling stations to be hyper sensitive.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate, Maibam Dhanabir re-submitted his nomination today.
Party president Thounaojam Chaoba who accompanied the candidate said the by-election will not be an ordinary one.
He further stated the party will be taking part in the election keeping rural development such as restoration of the Pumlen lake as its agenda.
He also said that selected projects such as providing clean drinking water, water at the fields and development of finance and education are included in the party`™s agenda.
