CHANDEL, Oct 22: President of Naga Women Union Chandel (NWUC) Langhu Bliss Anal has greeted the people of the district `a very peaceful and prosperous Chavan Kumhrin 2014.
She said that on this auspicious festival, the people of Chandel remember and thank the then deputy commissioner of Chandel Lalringa and assistant commissioner of Chandel Birendra Singh for declaring October 23 as district holiday on May 15, 1978 on account of Chavan Kumhrin.
She also expressed gratitude to all intellectual elders who initiated the move to make Chavan Kumhrin a district holiday.
