IMPHAL, October 27: Troops of the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR has apprehended five individuals along with banned wildlife products at Khudengthabi check post on October 26.
According to a release of the PRO, the apprehended individuals were identified as S Mangminlian, 31, son of Sinminthang of T Khajang village, Churachandpur, MD Ibrahim, 52, son of (L) Md Salaodin of Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi (A), Thoubal, Moiranthem Jatishwar Singh, 35, son of M. Iboyaima Singh of Thanga Moiranthem Meikai, Bishnupur, Phijam Ranjit Singh, 36, son of (L) Ph. Babudhon Singh of Khurai Puthiba Leikai, Imphal East and A Ngamsei, 85 of Moreh Ward No 1, Chandel.
From the apprehended persons, 18 tiger teeth (canines) (estimated cost of Rs. 50 Lakh), 120 gm of Heroin, a Tokay Gecko, an Aadhar card, a mobile phone and 3 voter I/Cards were recovered.
The apprehended persons along with the recovered items have been handed over to the Forest Department, Imphal/NCB, Imphal, it said.
