IMPHAL, October 1: The Joint Action Committee against the brutal killing of Lourembam (o) Ranjita Devi has organised a meeting on October 1 at 2 pm with Khomdram Ibotombi as the chief guest.
According to a release of the committee, the meeting was attended by members of AMKIL, TAMICHINGMI, The Women Development Samaj, ECHAL, UMO, MAPI, NIPCO, Tribal District United Women Development
Organisation, UCM and Apunba Nupi Khunai Lamjing Meiralup and set up 3 resolutions.
The resolutions are to demand death sentences for Laishram Ibomcha and Laishram Bira Singh accused of killing L Ranjita, to organise mass protest in collaboration with civil organisations if Ibomcha is not punished before November 2 and to refuse to provide lawyers for Laishram Ibomcha, it said.
