IMPHAL, October 3: The 24th Loktak Celebration Day will be held on October 8 at Sendra Tourist Centre.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi will grace the function as the chief guest.
The celebration will be organised by Loktak Day Committee under the theme `Loktak is our treasure, it is our soul, it is our mother, save Loktak, save Manipur`, informed former minister H Sanayaima, the president of the organising committee during the press meet at the Manipur Press Club today.
Sanayaima further said that the main highlights of the celebration would include the worshipping of Loktak Lairembi after collecting sacred water from Eshai Mapal, spreading awareness about the Loktak Lake, discussions and cultural programs by the people of the surrounding villages.
Several other activities and sports will be held during the celebration, he added.
