IMPHAL, November 5: The All Manipur Government Aided School Employee Co-ordinating Committee (AMGASECC) has demanded revised pay under the 6th Pay Commission along with filling up of vacant posts through DPC.

Speaking during a press meet at the Manipur press Club today, president of the committee, Laishram Premeshor said an ultimatum was already submitted to both the Chief Minister and the Education minister on September 19 regarding their demands.

He said on October 13, the committee organised a protest rally in Imphal as part of their movement demanding the revised pay, conduct of DPC, implementation of Pension rule among others.

However, the government has decided to remain silent on their demand, he said.

Now the committee will stage a sit in protest at the Keishampat Lairembi Community Hall at the earliest, and in case the government fails to meet the demands, the committee supported by certain hill based students union will launch agitation, he warned.

There are altogether 1749 approved teachers in aided schools in the State, around 300 teachers have retired or expired, however, the government has failed to conduct DPC to fill in the void, he said.
