IMPHAL, Nov 23: Troops of the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) apprehended four arms dealers along with the illegal arms and ammunition at Khudengthabi check post on Nov 22.
According to a release, a red coloured Maruti Wagon Registration No MN 02A 6904 travelling from Moreh to Imphal was stopped for checking and on a thorough check of the vehicle led to recovery of one MA3 Mk II Assault Rifle, two magazines, three mobile phones, four bottles of foreign made beer, two voter identity cards, one driving license and cash of Rs 21,890.
The arrested persons are identified as Hoi Hneihching, 39 W/o An Mang, resident of G Mualkawi, under Churachandpur District, Em Khanmang (Driver of the van), 42, S/o Mr Tangkhukam, resident of Gangpimual, Vungnaihlian, 31 yrs, W/o Munga of New Lamka, and Alice Ching Gouman, 21, D/o K Nengkhothun, resident of New Lamka, of the same district.
They were later handed over to the Singjamei Police Station, said the release.
