JIRIBAM, November 24: The Rubber Board Regional Office, Silchar has inaugurated Rubber Board Field Station Office at Jiribam today. The opening ceremony of the programme was held at Municipal Town Hall. The Board is the first of its kind in Manipur.
The welcome address of the ceremony was presented by Laishram Yaiphaba Meitei and graced by Joint Rubber Production Commissioner, PG Salim Kumar as president, Additional Rubber Production Commissioner, MN Gopinath as chief guest and Executive Office, Municipal Council, Jiribam, Harikumar Singh and President of Champanagar, RPS and Deputy Rubber Production Commissioner, Rubber Board Regional Office, Silchar, Ajith Kumar as guests of honour.
President of the programme, PG, Salim has said in his speech that the office was inaugurated for the rubber farmers from Silchar to work at the office which will provide ease of work and for the benefit of the rubber producers. He also appealed to the people to help in the development of the office.
Chief guest, MN Gopinath also said that opening of the office has placed Manipur under the Rubber Board Office of India. He further said that rubber tree saplings are being planted at over 1000 Hector of land and has also been appealed to extend the land for plantation.
The programme was also attended by rubber farmers and members of Rubber Producer Societies from various places.
