IMPHAL, Nov 25: The Tekcham Gopal Foundation for Arts and Culture (TG-FOAC) has said that it has launched a Seminar cum 4th Manipur Folk Dance Festival under the sponsorship of Ministry of Culture, Government of India at TG-Complex, Sagolmang on November 24.
According to a release of the Foundation, the Seminar cum Festival was inaugurated by Head Master, Sagolmang Government High School, N. Nandakumar Singh as the chief guest, Cultural Activist, Kh. Achou as the president and Advisor of TG-FOAC as the guest of honour. The programme was being organised with the aim to enhance and preserve the folklore value and indigenous culture of hilly and valley people of Manipur especially in Folk Dance and Music, it said.
It further said that the programme will be continued till November 30 with 10 Cultural troupes from different hill and valley districts of Manipur. The opening programme has been attended by many cultural lover/people of the state and 3 resource persons/experts will delivery talk on different topics regarding preservation and promotion of the folk culture with an interaction among invitees/delegates.
The cultural performances of the festival was started fully from November 25 and will continue till November 30, it said.
