CHANDEL, DEC 11: A joint meeting of the Village Level Water & Sanitation Committee (VLWSC), Chandel district Head quarters and the village chiefs was held at VLWSC`™ office yesterday attended by chiefs and secretaries from about 21 villages.
Chairman of VLWSC Js Angam briefed the members present in the meeting on the repairing work and expenditure incurred by the committee. The members present praised the immense efforts of repairing the deteriorating pipelines of the district head quarters water supply. The members expressed their satisfaction of receiving water beyond their expectation, with jubilant faces.
During the meeting few far flung areas like Chandel Christian, L Thangkam, Kurkam, Khuurfhuwdam and Hnatham came forward with the request for pipelines to be connected to their villages. In this regard, the chairman, accepting the written request assured he would approach the PHE department for supply of needed pipes so that villages may enjoy water.
The chairman while speaking, at the end of the meeting, appealed all people of Chandel headquarter to preserve forest for maintaining continuous flow of water for years to come
