FEGOCTA says govt assured its demands would be met

IMPHAL, Dec 11: The Federation of Government College Teachers`™ Association (FEGOCTA), Manipur has said that the State government has agreed to take up necessary steps for the implementation of UGC Regulations, 2010 regarding the payments of arrears from January 1, 2006 to the college teachers and to avail 80% re-imbursement from the Central Government as demanded by the association.

According to a release of the association, the agreement was reached at the meeting of the FEGOCTA representatives with Education Minister, M. Okendro along with the Officials of the Higher Education Department on December 8.

The Education Minister has assured that the delayed payment of SCA and TA for 49 months to the government college teachers would be resolved at the earliest.

The Education Minister has also accepted the association`™s request for the formulation and adoption of Academic Calendar in consultation with Directorate of University and Higher Education for proper teaching-learning and academic performance in the colleges.

He further assured that Higher Education will be given priority by the state government under the abled leadership of the Chief Minister, it said.
