IMPHAL, Dece 24: A powerful IED exploded this morning around at Nongren Nongpok Kakching under Imphal East district.
Sources said the blast occurred around 10.50 when a convoy of 49 Battalion BSF team D company of Laijing Hill post was travelling along the IVR road of Nongren Nongpok Kakching in between Napetpalli to Maphou Dam.
No human casualty was reported as the IED exploded seconds before the convoy reached the blast site.
Soon after the blast, a team of Lamlai police led by its OC and a team of 30 AR rushed to the blast site.
The incident comes barely a day after a powerful IED explosion in front of the Company Operation Base (COB) of the 16 Assam Rifles Litan last evening under Litan police station.
