Imams Council to insist on reconstruction of Babri Masjid at same spot it stood once

IMPHAL, December 6: In a press release, the state chapter of the All India Imams Council (AIIC) has stated that it organised a public meeting at around 11 am today in memory of those who received martyrdom at the Babra Masjid.

AIIC, Manipur State general secretary Maulana Jallaluddin explained the significance of conducting the meeting in his keynote address while Manipur Muslim Online Forum convenor Muhammed Farooq gave minute details about the Babri Masjid. This included daily compulsory routine of reading the namaz five times since the construction of the Masjid in the 16th Century till its demolition, stated the press release signed by the former.

AIIC, Manipur State executive member accused the then Congress leaders such as former Prime Minister Narahimha Rao and the then Home Minister of colluding with the Sangh Parivar in demolishing the Masjid while also accusing the Congress government of turning a blind eye to the Liberhan Committee report which took 17 years of painstaking investigation, and remaining a bystander without arresting those responsible for the demolition, it said.

It further stated that Popular Front of India, Manipur State president Muhammed Khalid Rashid narrated the story of the three judges of the Allahabad High Court who had passed an emotional judgement on the Babri Masjid case and urged people to refrain from seeing the AIIC orgnanised event with a communal perspective.

Ustad Madrassa Aliya Maulana Mubarak Ali of Yairipok in his speech stressed that damaging the Babri Masjid or any Masjid for that matter is a sinful act while also emphasising on the need for taking up various measures to stop such incidents. Expressing his desire to bring those who caused such damages on the right path, he pointed out that it was about time to find means to take out their communal venom, it added.

It also stated that Maulana Tajuddin of Sangaiyumpham gave the valedictory address.

The meeting unanimously took the three resolutions of the reconstruction of Babri Masjid in the same spot, the demand for stern punishment against those who violate those rights guaranteed under the Constitution and the repeal of unlawful acts like the disturb area act, added the press release.
