JNV Khumbong students selected for JENESYS programme

IMPHAL, Dec 6: Two students of JNV, Khumbog, Imphal West, Manipur have been selected to visit Japan under Japan East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths programme, said a statement of the principal of the school.

It said the staff and the students of JNV, Khumbong extend their heartiest congratulations to Ruhikumar Shandham and Ningthoujam Nareshkumar Singh of Class XI Sc. on being selected for the JENESYS programme.

They are leaving for Japan on December 8, it said.

JENESYS programme is a project advanced by the Japanese government from the standpoint of providing a sound foundation for strong solidarity within Asia through large-scale youth exchange.

It is an exchange programme to invite youths from overseas to Japan with a view towards promoting mutual understanding and friendship with Japanese youths and citizens, it said.

Earlier, three students of JNV, Khumbong, namely Lalhaba Oinam, M Franco and Th Kenath have already availed this rare opportunity and visited Japan. Altogether five students have been selected from this Vidyalaya so far.

It is pertinent to mention that in the entire North-East, JNV, Khumbong is the only one from where two students have been selected in the same year under this JENESYS programme, it said.
