IMPHAL, December 18: There is no dispute among the leaders of the Manipur unit of the All India Trinamool Congress and allegations made by the party`™s candidate in the recent Hiyanglam by-election Dr Radheshyam are baseless and unfounded, said the party`™s State unit president Thounaojam Shyamkumar today.

He said the best example of no internal conflict in the party is that Dr Radheshyam himself fought the recent by-poll on a Trinamool ticket.

Dr Radheshyam has tendered resignation from the party, which he, as the party`™s president has accepted already, Shyamkumar said.

He said however it is unfortunate that the party`™s candidate decided to make some wild allegations before leaving and tarnish the image of the party.

Meanwhile, continuing with the exchange of allegations, Shyamkumar said the main cause for the defeat of the party in the Hiyanglam by-poll was due to Radheshyam`™s bad reputation he had gain while he was still practicing medicine.

Shyamkumar said soon after the election, the party had conducted an inquiry as to how the party was defeated and found that the doctor was infamous in the area because he used to charge a huge sums from patients and was even indifferent to his poorer patients.

Dr Radheshyam has also had a questionable political background as it has been found that he had asked to join the BJP before joining Trinamool after leaving CPI, but at the last moment decided to join Trinamool, the MPTCC president said.

All these could be the reason for his getting minimum votes from his own home polling, Shyamkumar continued.

His resignation from the party can cause no impact, Shyamkumar concluded.
