HOJAI, December 12 : The Nagaon District Manipuri Handloom Society, Nagaon, Assam observed the Platinum Jubilee (75th) of Nupilal Ningshing Thouram today at 9 am at Nangdapur Durga Mandir, Hojai, Assam.
The programme was opened with the hoisting of the flag by President of the Nagaon District Manipuri Handloom Society, Lairenlakpam Tombi Devi and offered floral tributes to the Imas who sacrificed their lives during the Nupi Lal.
The programme was graced by Retired Chief Medical Officer, Doctor M. Sanao Singh as chief guest, Lecturer at Hojai Girls`™ College, Kshetrimayum Dr. Asharani as president and President of UMAA Nagaon Th. Gunamani Singh, President of Aiyeeba Lup, Assam, Thoudam Babatombi, Sahitya Bhusan, Laishom Gulap, President of Manipuri Cultural Society Lup, Assam, Gopi Meitram (International Awardee) and President of Meitei Enat Kanba Lup, Keisham Hemochandra as guests of honour.
The Nupilal programme was attended by 2000 women from 47 villages located at Hojai and Journalist Hemanta Moiranthem was also honoured with a present.
